Recipes I actually make

Short, real-food meals and snacks for busy families — nothing fussy, nothing you'll never cook again.

Golden Beets & Yogurt Bowl

5 minutes · gut health

Fermented beets plus live-culture yogurt — the fastest lunch that actually feeds your gut.

  1. 1.Spoon 3 tablespoons fermented beets over ½ cup plain yogurt.
  2. 2.Add sliced cucumber, a sprinkle of sunflower seeds and a squeeze of lemon.
  3. 3.Finish with olive oil, flaky salt and black pepper.

Cinnamon Pumpkin Seeds

20 minutes · kids snack

Crunchy, salty-sweet and rich in magnesium — the snack my kids ask for by name.

  1. 1.Toss 2 cups pumpkin seeds with a little olive oil.
  2. 2.Stir in cinnamon, a pinch of sea salt and just a touch of maple.
  3. 3.Roast at 300°F for 15–18 minutes, stirring once, until golden.

Overnight Oats, Three Ways

5 minutes + overnight · steady blood sugar

Fiber and protein first thing keeps energy steady instead of spiking and crashing.

  1. 1.Mix ½ cup oats, ½ cup milk, 1 tablespoon chia seeds and ¼ cup yogurt.
  2. 2.Top with berries and cinnamon, then refrigerate overnight.
  3. 3.Switch it up: apple + walnut, mango + coconut, or cocoa + banana.

Sunlight Salmon & Broccoli

25 minutes · sunlight & vitamin D

One of the few foods that naturally carries vitamin D — plus omega-3s for growing brains.

  1. 1.Rub salmon fillets with olive oil, lemon and garlic.
  2. 2.Roast salmon and broccoli at 400°F for 12–15 minutes.
  3. 3.Finish with more lemon and a big handful of fresh herbs.

Cucumber-Mint Berry Water

5 minutes · hydration

The simplest way to get the whole house drinking water instead of juice.

  1. 1.Add cucumber slices, a handful of mint and crushed berries to a pitcher.
  2. 2.Fill with cold water and let it sit 10 minutes before pouring.
  3. 3.Keep it in the fridge so it's the first thing they reach for.

Sweet Potato & Black Bean Tacos

30 minutes · fiber & nutrition

Fiber feeds your gut and keeps blood sugar calm — and kids eat it because it's a taco.

  1. 1.Roast cubed sweet potato with olive oil and cumin until tender.
  2. 2.Warm black beans with garlic, lime and a little chili.
  3. 3.Spoon into warm tortillas with yogurt, cilantro and avocado.
